Russia slaps countersanctions against 322 Ukrainians, 68 companies

MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Russia has frozen money on accounts, securities and property of 322 Ukrainian individuals and 68 companies and prohibited their funds repatriation in retaliation for Kiev’s sanctions, the government said in a statement on Thursday.

The blacklist comprises Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, former prime ministers Yuliya Timoshenko and Arseny Yatsenyuk, spokesperson for Ukraine’s president Svyatoslav Tsegolko, and head of gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy Andrei Kobolev.

They will cover judges of Ukraine’s Constitutional Court, deputies of the country’s parliament Verkhovna Rada, large businessmen and their firms, presidential administration officials, heads of government agencies and bodies.

The sanctions may be abolished if Kiev lifts its anti-Russian sanctions, the ruling read.
